Tell Him Next Year
It’s Christmas Eve. Dad’s got indigestion. Mum can’t decide whether now’s the time to tell seven year-old William the truth about Father Christmas. And downstairs there are intruders. One is very fat and is eating all the mince pies. The other is abnormally short and has strangely pointy ears. Are they burglars? Escaped lunatics? Perverts? Or could it be… Father Christmas and his Elf? Whoever they are, little William is on their list.

For the multi-award-selected short film Tell Him Next Year, Numan Khan provided full production sound, ensuring clean, controlled and high-quality audio capture throughout the shoot. Working within a zero-budget framework and a fast-moving set featuring practical stunts and high-energy performances, he handled all on-set sound recording, dialogue capture, ambience, and technical coordination required to support the film’s dark comedic–horror tone. His contribution ensured that the film’s performances including Warwick Davis and Harrison Sansostri were supported by professional, broadcast-quality sound, helping elevate the overall production value despite its micro-budget origins.
